Jodie Kennedy was born into a business world. Her grandfather owned a manufacturers representative company and her parents owned a children’s clothing store, and card & gift stores. She accompanied her mom to work at a young age, sometimes napping in the carpeted display window of the children’s clothing store. By age six, she was waiting on customers and working the cash register.
Jodie started her first business in college with a balloon delivery service based in her dorm room.
After graduating from The George Washington University, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua, providing accounting, marketing, and business development consulting to micro-businesses. Se habla español.
Jodie’s dream job of marketing and travel emerged as she began her six-year career at US Airways, first in loyalty marketing and promotions working with hotels, rental cars, credit cards, and restaurants. She transitioned to business development, where she led inter-departmental teams to negotiate and execute contracts with multi-national airlines as part of the Star Alliance.
Jodie moved to hospitality marketing and worked with Marriott hotels for 13-years, where she led the planning, development and execution of the marketing strategy for a variety of hotels in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, California, Oregon and Washington. In her role, she created and implemented strategic plans and tactics to target various market segments through social media, search engine optimization, digital marketing, partnership, public relations, advertising, merchandising, and branding efforts. By working with customer facing associates, department managers, general managers and ownership groups, Jodie was able to connect and navigate successfully at all levels, while consistently gaining recognition for stakeholder satisfaction.
Since starting her marketing consulting business in 2018, Jodie has worked with businesses in the food industry, software, interior design, professional services, real estate development, and hospitality industry. She has assisted with businesses in all stages, from small start ups to large well established companies.

Jodie is active member of the Southwest Detroit Business Association through her participation in workshops and marketing consulting for other association members.
Jodie is a member of the Professional Services Network at TechTown Detroit, where she volunteers her time to assist small businesses in developing their marketing vision through the Ask an Expert program.
Jodie serves as the marketing chairperson on the St. Regis Advancement Counsel. Through her leadership, they have expanded sponsorship by offering enhanced marketing and added new elements to events.
